My research examines how social and economic inequalities become embedded in everyday family life and shape diets and health.
I focus on three interconnected areas:
Food and nutritional inequality
How economic circumstances, family relationships, and the social meaning of food shape what parents and children eat.
Parenting, caregiving, and family life
How parents—particularly mothers—navigate the practical and emotional demands of feeding, caring for, and supporting their families.
Maternal and child health
How social conditions and institutional experiences influence the health and well-being of mothers and children.
